Akismet is a really good plugin that stops spam. If you have just downloaded wordpress aksimet will already be a part of your wordpress, you just have to activate it, if not you have to download it.

Step 1: First you have to click on here to download Akismet, if you don't have it already.

Step 2: Unzip the folder and uoload it to your website by using FTP, you have to upload it to your plugin folder, wordpress >> wp-content >> plugins.

Step 3: Now you have to log on to your Wordpress dashboard. Click on plugins in the upper right corner.

Step 4: Find the Akismet plugin and click activate on the button right next to it.


Step 5: If you look at the plugin menu at the top you will now have a new option, Akismet Configuration. Click on it.

Step 6: Go get your API key and paste it into the open field. Then click Update options and your done!
