I think pixel texts are really cute! They are really easy to do aswell! You can use them on layouts, icons or whatever you'd like!

Step 1: First you have to download a pixel text, go to this page, download one you like and install it on your computer.

Step 2: Now use the Text tool, which looks like this: . Select the the size 6pt. Your settings should look like this:


Step 3: Use the Selection tool, which looks like this: . Mark a rectangle around the text. Then click on the text so that the marking closes up on the text.

Step 4: Go to selection >> modify >> expand.

Step 5: A new window will appear and here you have to choose 1 as number of pixels.

Step 6: Click on the layer at the bottom of your layer palette. Then click Layers >> New Raster Layer.

Step 7: Use the Paint Brush tool, which looks like this: , select a color you would like to be around your pixel text and start painting around it while the expanded marking is still there.

Step 8: Remove the marking by clicking Selection >> Select None and then you are finished! Here's my result:
