Bubble Layout

Here's a new kind of layout I've been making. I thought I could call them bubble layouts:) Here's how you make them.
Step 1: I use PSD's as the pictures, but you could try with regular pictures. I'm going to use 3 PSD's of Brenda Song, which I just made:

Step 2: Open a new dokument, make it much bigger then all the PSD's/pictures and then add all of them on to it. Place the PSD's/pictures the way you want them! Here's how mine looks like, I also added a white dropdown shaddow to the picture on the top, so you see it better: (remember to make the dokument transparent)

Step 3: When you are happy with how the three pictures are plased, click Layers >> Merge >> Merge Visible.

Step 4: Make a new raster layer, by clicking Layers >> New raster layer. Drag the layer under the merged layer, here's how your layer palette shoul look like:

Step 5: Select the Elipse tool, which looks like this: . Use the tool to make circles under the picture the places you want them to be on. The colour the elipse will have is the under colour, so choose a colour there before you make the circles. Your tool line settings shoulc look like this:

Step 6: Now you can start making circles under the pictures. Here's ho mine looks after I've added the circles:

Step 7: As you can see there still is a blanck spot in the corner. Just make another circle to fill it up or make a rectangle with the same colour.

Step 8: As you have probably seen on my bubble layouts the PSD goes gradient at the bottom, so to do this, select the merged layer and use the eraser tool to erase the bottom of each PSD. Remember to change the settings on the eraser tool, so the hardness is at 0%.

Step 9: Now we can add a matching background to the layout or you could just make it transparent, but I'll be adding a background. Go to your layer palette and select the layer at the bottom named Raster 1. Use the Flood Fill tool to add a colour that you like. Here's how mine looks now:

Step 10: If you want to add a shadow to the circles you have to select the layer you have the circles on, and then to use the Selection tool to add a big rectangle around all the circles, then click on the circles, the marking should then close up on the circles. Go to Effects >> 3D Effects >> Drop Shadow. Play around with the settings untill you find somthing you like and then click 'ok'.

Step 11: To add brushes underneath the circles you have to make a new raster layer again, and put it right over the layer at the bottom named Raster 1. Here's how your layer palette should look like after you've added the new raster layer for brushes:

Step 12: After you've added the brushes under the circles, you can make some new raster layers all the way to the top and maybe add some brushes on the top of the pictures or some text. And you're done! Here's my finished layout (click to enlarge):
