5 stupid things customers do

I hate customers! Okay, not all of them, but some can be really stupid. Here are some examples for you:

Stupid 1: I’m running around hanging out clothes and cleaning racks. Behind me I hear a voice asking “Do you work here?“. In my mind I’m thinking, well no, I don’t work here, I just find it so much fun hanging out clothes and tydying. And I think it is so cool to wear a sign on my chest saying H&M. Sometimes I actually joke with the customer and say what I’m thinking and other times I put a big smile on my face and say “yes, can I help you?“. I have actually got this questions a couple of times when I’ve been up on a ladder trying to change the composition of the shelves. I just can’t believe why they have to ask, everyone can see that I’m working there. Can’t they?

Stupid 2: “Hi, where can I find this shirt?” I look at the shirt and I tell the customer to go to the right and then look on the other side of the rack there, which is where the shirt is hanging. Then I watch the customer go to the left and wonder away in the opposite direction. WHY?? I just told you the way? Do I really have to run after you, take you by the hand and escort you to it? Most of the times I just standing there watching the customer and laughing to myself.

Stupid 3: Another question I get alot is “Where can I find the jacket on this mannequin?” When we put something on a mannequin the garment is always in the area nearby, usually on the table under the mannequin or on a rack right behind. Why don’t just use your eyes instead of asking us for everything? One time when a customer asked me this question I told her, to just turn around, because the garment was right behind her. Are they just too lazy?

Stupid 4: A customers comes to the cashier’s stand to pay for a cardigan. I bip in her garment and tell her the price to pay: 199 NOK. She looks at me in a funny way and says “...but the sign says 49,50 NOK?“. I follow the customer to check the sign, which says Top 49,50 NOK. When did a cardigan become a top? When the customer detects this she says she doesn’t want the garment after all. How come they can’t read and how come they can’t check the price tag on the garment which tells you the price?

Stupid 5: When I’m on the floor running around tidying and hanging out clothes I usually watch what the customers are doing. The most annoying thing I see is when someone goes by a rack, and manages to bump into it so that a garment falls down on the floor. The customers usually stops up, stand still just watching it for about 5 seconds, then turns around and walks away. Is it so hard to pick it up and put it back where it belongs? Most of the times I yell after the customer “hey, you dropped something!“. I find it quite funny when I watch them go back to pick it up.

  2. I don’t work in a clothes shop, I work in a grocery store, but I could probably name 100 stupid things customers do lol. I can agree with you on #4. I don’t know why people don’t read signs. Why would you only look at the price and not read what it’s for? Ughh that’s so annoying.

  3. I absolutely hate working with the public. I work at a coffee shop and the way customers treat the staff is seriously rediculous. I’d like to see them deal with stupid customers like themselves eh?

right click > new > compressed (zipped) folder. then copy and paste the script from your scripts restricted folder into the zipped folder. that’s how i do it at any rate ;]

  17. sorry I haven’t been in contact much- dropthephone has died on me so I got a new domain; the host of my host disappeared.. lol .

wow, those really are annoying things lol. I’ve never worked in a clothing store, but I know that it must be such a hassle- people picking up things, looking at them, putting them back down and don’t even bother folding it. it just makes the store look messy and all their hard work to make it look neat and tidy has gone to hell lol. I always try my best to put things back how i got them- other customers should learn to do the same
