Behind the scenes

Yesterday we took photos for our Facebook campaign. I also went to Asker to visit Wenche. That’s why I didn’t have time to post this yesterday. Here’s some behind the scenes photos:

We started the day at a coffee shop. This was my breakfast.

Then we took a photo with the Facebook coffee cup we’ve made. The couple in the background is our target group.

Here Karoline and Kristian is getting ready for a little photo shoot. They are supposed to be an old couple. Not easy to get the t-shirt on because of the big coats. Funny picture!

Getting in character.

Snik-peak on the final result.

Editing photos.

My father modeled for the second photo shoot. Then we got a random guy from the bar to join the photo.

More from my shopping in Derby

I totally forgot to show you the rest of the stuff I bought in England. Since we don’t have Top Shop in Norway I bought most of the stuff there. I love that shop! They were planning to open a store here in Oslo, but something happened and now the planes are put on hold. That sucks!

Big tube scarf from Top Shop.

Handbag from Top Shop

Wedges from H&M

Painful day at the hospital

I went to the hospital today. They wanted to do some more tests on me, to figure out exactly where the cancer is located in my neck. the doctor started with an ultrasound, which is a totally okay test, since it doesn’t hurt at all. After the ultrasound he told me he had to stick two needles in my neck, right in the front, to take out some samples. I was prepared for it, but I cried. I hate it. It hurts like hell!

When he came back after discussing the sample with a colleague he told me he also had to take a new sample of the lymph gland (the one they took tissues from the last time I was in the hospital). He said the sample from last time wasn’t good enough. Right there I panicked. Another one. A third needle. Fuck. In my mind I’m thinking I just have to go through with it to get well. When he came back again after the third needle he told me he had bad news; The sample he just took from my lymph gland wasn’t enough, they couldn’t see anything wrong so he told me he had to take another one. Before he started he informed me that with the thin needle they’re using it’s not always easy to get out what they need. So he then took the fourth sample. This was the worst one. I sort of screamed while he had the needle in there, cause it hurt so much.

I’m so glad my parents was there to support me. I was shaking so much, my whole body was tens when he put the needle in. I remember telling my parents when he was out with the fourth sample that I was sure it wouldn’t be good enough. And I was right… He came back one last time to give me bad news. The sample wasn’t good, he needed one more. So today my neck is full of small wholes, five small wholes to be exact. It still hurts like hell. It hurts when I swallow, when I lean my head back and when I move my head to the sides.

He couldn’t tell me to much about the results yet, since they have to look at them more carefully. Though he told me that I do not have to remove the whole thyroid, only parts of it, which is a good thing. It would have been more complicated if they had to remove everything. Then he told me they would contact me sometime next week. So now I just have to wait… in pain!

Look how bad my neck looks. I’m even blue!!!!!! If you look closely you can see where he put the four needles, the last one is in front there somewhere.

Lanvin ♥ All for children

This is the t-shirt all the workers at H&M had to wear on the release of the Lanvin collection on Tuesday. We also had to wear black trousers and red lipstick. I didn’t get that message though, so I wore my green trousers:P I don’t think I’ll ever wear this t-shirt again. The red flower is so big, and just out there. Looks ridiculous. Not my style.

I didn’t buy anything from the collection since I’d just been to England and spent enough money there. I did buy this cute shopping bag though. It’s perfect for my Mac, when I need my Mac at school. Instead of running around with a stupid plastic bag.

The bag only costs 29,50 NOK (around 5 USD) and 30% of the sales price will be donated to a ling-term project between H&M and Unicef. Protecting children’s rights in cotton producing areas in India. Read more about the project here.

Poke!

LOL!!!!!

Facebook campaign

For the campaign we got last week at school we have decided to use Facebook. We want to make people who’s 40 years old and up to around 70 to join and understand that it’s totally harmless to make a Facebook profile. The plan is to take photos of target group wearing some Facebook t-shirts. I’m not sure how it’ll turn out yet, hopefully it’ll turn out the way we’ve planned. Here’s some photos of the t-shirts in making.

Kristian got the ironing job.

Karoline is in a relationship…. not!

The trip!

Hi guys. I came home late last night. The journey home was long, 13 hours to be exact. We had to switch plane in Frankfurt. When I got home I got about three hours sleep before I had to go to work. The Lanvin collections at H&M arrived in the stores today, so you see we had a lot to do and I had to step in. It was fun. Not as many people as the Jimmy Choo collection though. We had to wear these funny t-shirt, I’ll probably show it to you later:) But now I want to tell you all about our trip!

We arrived at London around 14:30 on Friday, where we had planed to stay a little while to do some shopping since Selin (my brothers girlfriend) had never been there. So here we have the gang in front of Top Shop in Oxford Street, my brother to the left, his girlfriend and my cousin Magnus.

We didn’t actually have time to shop anything at all, because we had to catch a train to Derby. And since my cousin used so much time at Top Man we had to run all the way from the underground to the platform where the train was. We almost didn’t make. You should have seen us running, I’m sure everyone looked at us like we were mad men. Finally on the train we could breath and relax.

And grab a beer. We where so thirsty after all the running. Have you ever tried running through the underground in the middle of the rush? So hard to get past all the people.

When we came to the hotel we were so tired. We stayed at Ramada Encore, right by the railway. I really liked the rooms. My father and my cousin shared a room, I had one for myself and my brother and his girlfriend shared a room.

Since we were all so tired we just went out for dinner, had a few drinks and went back to the hotel to sleep. The next day was the day of the match. Derby was playing against Scunthorpe. Before the game my father insisted on taking a photo in front of the new statue, unfortunately Selin wasn’t abel to get it in the photo. lol!

Then we bought some scarfs.

And before the game we met up with some other Norwegian Derby supporters and went to the nearest pub to get some beers.

It was fun to see Derby live. I’m not sure but I think this was my second time. They started the match off with a goal after three minutes. Then it got a little more exited when Scunthorpe scored. But we won the game 3-2 in the end. We were so happy, since we came all this way to see them play. Here’s a photo taken when Derby scored on a penalty shot.

We also managed to buy some beers in the break. Here’s Selin and I with our hands full. I asked a random guy to take the photo of us, therefore the bad quality.

That night we went out to celebrate the victory. We ended up at a pub called the Royal Telegraph with some other Norwegians. We played dart and pool and drunk a little bit too much. I have to admit that the rest of the night is kinda blurry for me. I remember loosing the dart game though, and that I really sucked at pool:P

Sunday morning most of us was really hung over. We grabbed a good breakfast at the hotel and went out to do some shopping. I got some really nice stuff, which I’ll show you in a blog post later. The person who got the most stuff was my cousin. He was running around buying everything like a crazy person. Okay not crazy but he spent a whole lot of money. Just look at all his bags.

Here he’s showing off some new shoes. Look at all the bags. It looks like we’ve bought the whole shopping center.

We met up with my dad, who decided to spend the time at a pub instead of shopping, afterwards. We went back to the hotel and just suddenly decided to go to Nottingham to see the A-ha concert. We jumped in a taxi and 30 minutes later we were standing in Nottingham Arena waiting for the concert to begin.

The concert was so amazing. A-ha has so many good songs. My father was ecstatic, he even had tears in his eyes on some of the songs. It was such a perfect ending to our England trip.

Derby won!

A little message from England. We’re going out to celebrate the victory now. The taxi is waiting and we’re sitting in the lobby drinking. Bottoms up. Bye:-)

Do you believe in signs?

It’s so weird. Remember I made that wordpress theme a couple of weeks ago, the one saying “Don’t worry, be happy”? I just chose that quote because I wanted to make a layout with typography and it was the first one I could think of. On Tuesday we got a new assignment at school, we’re going to make a campaign for a product. The thing is that we have to use the quote “Don’t worry, be happy”. How random is that?

I didn’t think too much about it, but it was kinda weird that I had just made that layout and than we got an assignment where we have to use the exact same quote. The weirdest thing is what happened at work today though. I was standing by a rack hanging up clothes when a little girl walks by with her father. She points at a t-shirt with a big smiley face on and says to her father “look daddy, don’t worry, be happy!”. This time I was like WHAT? Three times in such a short period and on top of my cancer. I’m sure someone is trying to send me a message. Don’t you? And I’m not usually so superstitious. It’s just so weird that this quote has appeared so many times the last week.

Thanks for all your support!

Things hasn’t really sunk in yet. I’m not sure it ever will, maybe when the operation day is set. I don’t know. I try to stay active to keep my mind on other things. The last days has been like a rollercoaster, I’ve managed to stay positive when I tell people about my illness and sometimes I convince myself that everything will be okay. Yeah, I know everything will be okay, but I’m just scared. When I go to bed at night all these horrible thoughts swirls around in my head. What if the doctor was wrong? What if it does spread? What if the operation is not successful?

Most of my closest friends and relatives knows about my illness by now. It’s so weird to see their reactions, some cries and some are just in shock. Today I told my teacher, since this probably will change the last weeks of the semester. She started crying. And when people starts crying, it’s so hard for me to hold back the tears, but I try to be strong.

I just want to say that I’m so incredibly thankful for all your love and support. It has really helped me to deal with the shock, even though I still can’t believe this has happened to me. I don’t feel sick at all, I go to school like I normally do and I’m still working at H&M. Tomorrow I’m actually going to England again. Derby this time, since my father is a huge fan of the football team. I traveling with my brother, my cousin, my father and my brothers girlfriend. I’ve been looking so forward to this trip and I’m so glad we’re still going. It’ll be good to think of something else for the weekend. I’m not bringing my Mac this time, since I’m only packing hand luggage. But I’m brining my camera, I promise to take lots of photos for you:) I’ll probably post from England if I can find a computer.

I have cancer

I cannot believe this. I NEVER in a million years thought I would say this or have this illness for that matter. It hasn’t really sunk in yet. How can I have cancer? I’m 22 years old, no one in my family has had cancer. I’ve always been healthy. At first I thought the doctor was playing with me. I looked at him, then my father, then I smiled and asked if he was joking. Unfortunately he wasn’t.

I’m going to be alright again though. The cancer is in my thyroid and is the mildest form of cancer. I first have to do more tests to locate what areas the cancer is in, then afterwards they will operate either the whole thyroid or just half out. For me the worst thing is the operation. I’ve never operated before. I’m really scared. And to me it sounds so crazy to remove something from your body that needs to be there. If I have to remove the whole thyroid I have to take pills for the rest of my life to keep the metabolization correct (or something like that).

When I called to tell some friends about the cancer everyone reacted the same way; they thought I was joking or they were in shock. Even my own mother couldn’t believe it. She’s in Riga with some colleagues and wanted to take the first plane back to Norway. I told her that there’s nothing to do yet, which is true. I have to wait for a new appointment at the hospital. Since the cancer is so mild there’s no rush, I’m not even sure if the operation is happening before or after christmas.

This has been an unreal day. I’ve been pinching my arm all day hoping to wake up. Please wake me up from this nightmare.

Naked

Hi. We’re finally done with the brochure task at school. Today we had the presentations and got some feedback from the teacher and other students. My brochure was so bad. I’m not satisfied at all. I still got time to change it though before we hand in our portfolios December 9. Instead of showing you my brochure, I really want to show you one Anders, in my class, made. It is so funny/shocking/cool and all that! It´s him in the photos. I promise to show you mine tomorrow. Please keep in mind that my brochure is about ginger snaps and that I’m not naked on it;)

bangs again!

It’s so nice to live with a former hairdresser. It’s been ages since I last cut my hair (March, I think), so it was about time now. I haven’t cut my bangs in a while either. I was unsure if I wanted it back, but it’s always nice with a change and if I get tired of it I can just put it up the way I’ve done lately. What do you think?

warm oversized cardigan

It’s so cold in Norway at the moment. Therefore I bought this warm knitted cardigan from H&M and today is really the day to use it. I’m going out for dinner with my brother and mom. Bye.

Trousers from Monki, scarf from Gina Tricot, cardigan and top from H&M.
