Harbour Bridge

So we finally arrived in Sydney after almost 14 hours in the car. We probably chose the longest way, but we got to see Canberra. Also we started the journey all the way down in Lorne, which is a couple of hours from Melbourne the opposite direction of Sydney. Finding a parking space in Sydney city is the hardest thing. We drove around for almost an hour searching for a spot. We found one in the end just under the Harbour Bridge, The Rocks. The bridge is so gigantic and really beautiful. Here are some photos:

Taken from our parking space at the Rocks.

From the Opera house. Photos of the Opera will be up next:)

The Parliament

As I said earlier, on our way to Sydney we decided to drive through Canberra, Sydney’s capital. I was really excited actually. But there was nothing to be excited about. Only the Parliament maybe, but it turned out to be just a beautiful building and that’s all it was. Inside they had tons of Australian history, which I find kinda boring. I know, I should be interested and stuff, but I’m just not. I’m glad we stopped though, cause now I can say that I’ve been there.

On our way to Sydney

Hey guys. Yesterday was a bad day. Everyone was hungover from Australia Day the day before. I went to the beach to work on my tan, fell asleep and got a little sunburned. Then I was half asleep the rest of the day. Very fun. Not. Well, I’m better today and I’m maybe gonna try the beach again. It’s Johnas’ last day here in Melbourne. He’s gonna fly back home to Norway at 11:59 pm tonight.

Anyway, here some more photos from our trip. This is from when we headed up to Sydney. We decided to drive through Canberra instead of taking the road by the ocean. We drove ALL day, except that we went surfing in Lorne in the morning. This was probably the most boring day we had (except from the surfing of course). I was so sore after all those hours in the car.

A parrot (or maybe a white cocka is more correct:P) in Lorne. He was posing from me.

The coolest house ever. It’s in the middle of Lorne and Anglesea.

Morten:)

Photo of Melbourne, from when we drove past it on our way to Sydney.

We drove till around 3 am, when Johnas started getting tired, so we stopped at this little place off the road to get some sleep.

Everyone eating breakfast before we started driving again.

Amazing view!

We drove a different way back from the Twelve Apostles, so that we could see the waterfall and more of Australia. When we got out from the rainforest we met this amazing view. We just had to stop to take some photos. Unreal view! There was actually a farm just on the other side of the road. I’m so jealous of the owners:P

Wallaby

Back from the waterfall we bumped into this little guy. I tried to get close enough to get a good photo, but she got scared and jumped away. There was actually a little baby in her pocket. Probably really protective of it.

Happy Australia Day

Happy Australia day everyone! Hope you’re having a good day:) We’re gonna barbecue really soon and then go out in St Kilda probably. The guys are already a bit drunk:P That’s what happens when you start at 6 am.

Me today! Dress from Sportsgirl. I’ll show you a better picture another day.

Beauchamp Waterfall

After Wreck Beach we went to Forest Beech to look for some waterfalls. We found Beauchamp Waterfall, which was an hour walk into the rainforest. I sorta hate walking in the forest. But it was so worth the while when we got there. The waterfall was amazing. So beautiful!

Wreck Beach

On our way back from The Twelve Apostles we stopped by a place called Wreck Beach. We thought it was a really exotic place we could go for a swim, but it was impossible to swim there. To dangerous. We had to go down 366 steps to get to the beach. So exhausting getting up again. I actually regretted going down there. I got some cool photos though.

On our way back we met tons of cows blocking the way. So cool:P

Baby Possum

You won’t believe who visited us today!!! The cutest little creature ever! A Little baby possum. He probably got lost from his mother and managed to find his way into our driveway. We read that if it was smaller than 7 inches he wouldn’t be abel to survive on his own. We think he was about 5-6 inches, so we made him a little shelter and gave him some water. Hopefully he’ll make the night and we can call RSPCA tomorrow. If he’s still there though.

More photos from our trip will be up later. I just had to post these photos first. Tomorrow is Australia Day, we’re gonna get up early to start drinking, then we’re gonna have a barbecue and go out in St Kilda later. There’s also gonna be fireworks up in the city. Hopefully we’ll be abel to see them from the pier in St Kilda.

The Twelve Apostles

The Twelve Apostles was amazing. I took tons of photos, here are some of the best.

Funny sign.

Gibson Steps

<3

The helicopters went over the apostles. Really expensive I imagine.

More rings

This one I got at Sportsgirl, on sale actually.

Morten went to Cairns for one month to do a job for his cousin in November. I missed him so much. When we finally met at Gold Coast he had bought me a little present. These three rings<3

Gibson Steps

Right before we arrived at the Twelve Apostles we noticed a sign for Gibson Steps, so we had to stop and check it out. It was so amazing there. The steps led to a beautiful beach with big rocks all around and two huge ones in the water. The sand was filled with colorful shells. The place was so unreal, I’ve never seen anything like it.

Castle Cove Lookout

There are so many lookout spots on Great Ocean Road. Castle Cove is one of them and it’s not too far away from the Twelve Aposles. I think we stopped at almost all of the lookouts along the way.

The view of the road where we came from.

Johnas, Morten and me on the lookout.

Johnas and Morten getting something from the car.

Malene

Cape Otway lighthouse

Before we left Cape Otway we decided to go see the lighthouse. Unfortunately you had to pay to get in there, so we walked a little of the Great Ocean Walk instead to search for a lookout over the lighthouse. We found it eventually, but the lighthouse was pretty far away.

Morten pretending to be a bear or something:P

The lighthouse. Too far away though.

Koalas!

We spent our first night on road trip in a caravan park called Bimbi, it is located in Cape Otway, 20 miniutes from Apollo Bay. Here we slept under the koalas. Pretty cool. They make the weirdest sounds at night. Before we left we wanted some really good photos of a koala, but we had to find one that was close enough, and we did! He was so close that we could touch him. He was just like a teddy bear.

Can you see the koalas in the tree?

Johnas petting one.
